What Withyn is
Withyn is a private, invite-based communication app. There are no public profiles, no public search, and connections are created through one-time codes or QR codes.
Information we collect
- Account information needed for Sign in with Apple, including an Apple account identifier.
- Anonymous app identifiers, connection records, invite or connection-code state, and basic account status.
- Encrypted messages, encrypted media references, call signaling data, delivery state, and device public keys needed to provide chat, media, and calls.
- Push notification tokens and device information needed to deliver notifications and incoming call alerts.
- Limited technical logs and diagnostics needed to keep the service reliable and secure.
What stays private
Contact names you assign are kept on your device. Withyn does not provide public user search or public profile discovery. Message and media content is handled as encrypted data for delivery.
How we use information
- To authenticate your account and keep unauthorized users out.
- To connect people who choose to connect with each other.
- To deliver encrypted chats, encrypted media, voice calls, and notifications.
- To prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and maintain service security.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We use service providers only as needed to run Withyn, including hosting, storage, push notifications, and operational infrastructure.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app. Account deletion removes or deactivates your account access and clears account-linked service data where required for the app to stop operating under that account.
